Greenback TN Real Estate

Greenback TN is a rural community situated in the southern corner of Loudon County beside Tellico Lake and stretching into the corner of Blount County. The town is centered around the junction of Highway 95 and Morganton Road, with the community extending south to U.S. Highway 411 and north to U.S. Highway 321.

Greenback has a total area of 7.2 square miles with approximately 1000 people living in 380 households (according to the 2000 census). This makes for a population density of about 59 houses per square mile.

Greenback real estate, because of the low population density, is a perfect match for those who like country living and wide open spaces. Cattle farms with large green pastures and rolling, wooded hills make for nice neighbors.

If recreation is what you like, you’re in luck. Greenback is on the shores of Tellico Lake and it is a short drive to Chilhowee Lake. A slightly longer drive will put you on scenic Foothills Parkway that winds along the crest of Chilhowee Mountain. From there, you can find your way to Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Greenback, even though it is a rural community, is just a short drive to the more urban areas, like Sweetwater and Maryville, and even big cities, like Knoxville.
